The last known publication was in 1956.

Ayden, NC — Ayden will soon have a new voice with the launch of The Ayden Dispatch, a community-focused digital newspaper dedicated to telling the stories of the people, places, and happenings that make our small town special.
The Ayden Dispatch will highlight local events, community leaders, businesses, and everyday moments that deserve recognition. From town hall updates and neighborhood celebrations to in-depth features on the people who give Ayden its heart, this publication will provide a digital gathering spot where residents can stay informed and inspired.
As a digital-first publication, The Ayden Dispatch will be accessible to everyone online, making it easy for residents and former Ayden locals to keep up with hometown stories no matter where they are.
To help launch the paper, The Ayden Dispatch is seeking 10 Founding Sponsors. These sponsors will be recognized as Community Sponsors across the platform—including main pages, articles, and special town tour features.
The publication is set to go live this winter, 2025.
